my background spans psychology, classrooms, education, research, fertility work and psychotherapy

the common thread has always been relationship

how I came to this work

I originally trained in psychology before spending many years in education and teacher training, eventually working as a senior lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University. Alongside teaching, writing and research, I became increasingly interested in the stories and narratives that people carry, the roles they learn to inhabit, and the ways experience shapes us over time.

Later, my work expanded into fertility, IVF,  long awaited pregnancy and postnatal support through yoga teaching, women’s circles and birthwork. Much of this experience continues to shape my psychotherapy work today, particularly my specialist knowledge in supporting people with their fertility and reproductive experiences.

In psychotherapy, these threads meet: the stories we carry, the bodies we live in, the relationships that shape us, and the possibility of becoming more fully ourselves.

how I work

I’m an advanced clinical trainee psychotherapist training in Transactional Analysis psychotherapy. This means the I’ve completed a year long weekly clinical placement in a low cost psychotherapy clinic in Manchester and have passed my fitness to practice assessments. In September 2026 I begin the final year of my diploma, focusing on my research project and in depth clinical case study, graduating fully in July 2027.

My approach is relational, collaborative and grounded in curiosity about how people come to understand themselves, relate to others, and make meaning from experience. I work thoughtfully, with attention to what’s being said - and what’s harder to put into words. Therapy with me is collaborative. I won’t position myself as the expert on your life, but I will think carefully alongside you.
